Let Us Go Play ‘Wreck-It Ralph’

I could not resist watching this film, mainly because I am a gamer and it is based on many different arcade games that and I do love a good animated film from time-to-time!

The only real problem I found with this film was that I felt too old to enjoy it and I am not that old myself! Not even 20!

Rather than that it was really good, the animation perfect, when it was meant to be as there is a character, Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) that is a ‘glitch’ so her animation is deliberately dodgy, making her jump from side to side and in front of other characters.

Wreck-It Ralph

It was nice seeing all the different game characters some still as famous as they were thirty years ago like, Clyde (Kevin Deters) from Pacman, Cyborg (Brian Kesinger) also known as Kano from Mortal Kombat, Sonic (Roger Craig Smith) from Sonic the Hedgehog and many more characters.

Evil Villain meeting

Even the ones who are not as popular now but were popular back in their day like, Q*bert from Q*bert.

I hope they make a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph as I would like to see more of the antics that the video game characters get up to when the arcade is closed.

Story Line

The story follows Ralph (John C. Reilly), who plays the villain in the arcade game Fix-It Felix jr., but he does not want to be the villain any more, he wants the people of “Nice Town” to like him and treat him nicely so he goes on the journey of gaining a gold “hero” medal from another game, he tries Hero’s Duty, a new game at the arcade, after being told by one of its characters that it only involves climbing a building and killing bugs but he does not realise what he is getting himself into!

After wrecking the game and accidentally landing in the escape pod, he shoots out of Hero’s Duty, into the “game station” and into a game known as Sugar Rush, here he stumbles upon the “glitch”, Vanellope, who steals his medal and uses it to become a racer in her game.

I won’t say any more so you can watch it for yourself!

Conclusion

This film is good and I recommended it as a family film, try to find an excuse to watch it if you do not have children to watch it with, I did, I used the “I am a reviewer” excuse.

The animation is amazing, the voicing is great and seeing all the old characters brought a smile to my face, good and bad characters.
