Real Steel

Okay. Sorry to my few readers for not making a post recently there has been a lot going on in my life at the moment. So again sorry for the lateness in writing a new post.

Anyway this post is about the film Real Steel, it is a film about boxing robots and a father, son bond.

The film is set in the near future when robot boxing is a top sport.

Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) is an ex-boxer who has taken into robot boxing, he is a washed up boxer who is making constant bets with people meaning he owes thousands of dollars to the wrong kind of people. He soon finds out that his ex-wife has passed away meaning he gains custody of his son, Max Kenton (Dakota Goyo), who he doesn’t want. His sister-in-law offers to take custody but wont be able to till the end of summer as they are going away for 2 months so Charlie keeps Max. They stumble across an old generation 2 robot boxer whilst looking for scraps. They take this robot, name it Atom and make it into a lean mean killing machine. Fight after fight winning every time.

It holds  a cocky show boating side where it will “shadow” the controller, the controller in this case being Max who walks Atom into the ring and then dances with it. Charlie does all the fighting, mainly because as previously said he is an ex-boxer.

It gets to the point where Max is getting so cocky about Atom constantly winning that he calls for a fight against the World Robot Fighting Champion, Zeus!

No robot has managed to get to the second round against Zeus. As I don’t want to ruin the film for you I will not say anything more!

I do recommend this film to anyone! Not just boxing fans. I myself am not a boxing fan but I did love this film.

Once again sorry for the late post, I hope you enjoyed it. I shall leave you with the video of Atoms fight with Twin Cities.

Happy blogging and blog reading!
